Worcestershire County Council Big Breakfast British Lung Foundation
Abstract
Worcestershire County Council and the council’s catering company Aspens Services raised over £1,000 for the British Lung Foundation after hosting a fundraising ‘Big Breakfast’.

Council chief executive Clare Marchant donned catering whites to join the County Hall catering team for the charity event, working alongside Aspens managing director John Roe and the Council's chief financial officer Sean Pearce who also joined the team as a guest chef.

Marchant said: “I thoroughly enjoyed serving breakfast for such a great cause. The support from the Aspens team as well as staff and members was fantastic and so encouraging. It was good to have a change of job for the morning and raise an incredible amount for charity."

Council staff tasted a range of breakfasts on the day, choosing from an all-day breakfast menu that included American-style pancakes, fruit and yoghurt, full English breakfasts, porridge, Danish pastries, cereals, toast and bagels.

Aspens Services donated the £1,100 raised to the British Lung Foundation, the UK charity leading the fight against lung disease.

The Big Breakfast is a national fundraising event organized by the British Lung Foundation, which supports patients and families as well as carrying out research and campaigning work. Lung disease affects more than 12 million people across the UK.

Aspens Services is an independent contract catering company that specialises in providing catering and cleaning services for schools, colleges and business clients across England and Wales.
