Two healthy school competitions return

15th Jan 2008 - 00:00
Abstract
The Healthy Schools Caterer of the Year competition has returned this year, inviting food companies who supply meals to schools the chance to win the coveted title – along with £1,000 worth of catering equipment.
To enter the competition, food suppliers to local schools must write no more than 250 words on why they think they should be considered the healthy school caterer of the year with California Raisins. It should include information on what they have done to take the healthier eating message to the schools they cater for, and how they are putting health at the top of the agenda. All entries will be judged on their innovation and approach to healthy eating school. A panel from the Food Development Association will carry out the judging. Another prestigious competition returning in its third year is the Healthy School Canteen of the Year competition, giving schools the chance to win one of three prizes of £500 for their school. Each school has to demonstrate why they think theirs is the healthiest school canteen, and how they use California Raisins in their school. To enter each competition, contact the California Raisins Administrative Committee on 020 8741 8513 or email info@ukraisins.com. California Raisins contains the vitamins and minerals that children needs. Just one handful is equivalent to one of the recommended five portions a day.
