Subway to create over 7,000 UK jobs

Subway, famous for its foot-long sandwiches has today announced that over 7,000 jobs will be created in the UK and Ireland, within the next two years.
The chain, which currently has over 1,400 stores owned by 660 franchisees, plans to open another 600 stores by the end of 2010 – which will see an investment of over £60 million across the UK and Ireland. Neil Black, development agent for the Subway said: "The chain has expanded from just 25 stores in 2000 to over 1,400 stores today. In the last month there have been 22 new Subway stores opened in the UK and Ireland, creating 264 jobs and seeing an investment of over £2 million. "We are delighted with the success we've achieved and that we are going to be able to provide a further 7,000 jobs." Subway now has over 30,000 stores globally. Weblink: www.subway.co.uk
