Shortlist announced for British Sandwich Awards 2016

The shortlist for the annual British Sandwich Awards, known as the Sammies, has been unveiled.

The Sammies 2016 will be held during British Sandwich Week on Thursday 12th May at Lancaster London Hotel, will be presented by celebrity chef Theo Randall and features independent cafés and shops, as well as high street giants such as Costa and Pret.

Jim Winship, director of British Sandwich and Food to Go Association, said: “The Sandwich Industry has delivered so much this year in terms of innovation, quality and authenticity across the board. They’ve responded perfectly to the mood of the nation bringing ever wider choice, “free-from” produce and more.

“Customers of those shortlisted can count themselves lucky to have such fantastic sandwiches every day. It’s great to see that market leading providers understand the consumer base and produces such fantastic sandwiches for them.”
