Scotland policy conference to address obesity policy and sugar consumption

The upcoming Scotland Policy Conferences Keynote Seminar will address the next steps for tackling obesity with a focus on prevention, sugar consumption and policy priorities.

Keynote speakers include Daniel Kleinberg, head of health improvement division, The Scottish Government; Geoff Ogle, chief executive, Food Standards Scotland and David Thomson, chief executive officer, Scottish Food and Drink Federation.

Discussion will focus on the latest evidence on consumer choices and behaviour, options for regulation and taxation to address obesity, challenges for food and drink businesses in marketing and reformulating products to reduce sugar content, and preventative measures adopted by local authorities and schools to tackle childhood obesity.

The conference will take place in Edinburgh on November 16th.
