RACA launches course at The City of Liverpool College
Abstract
The Royal Academy of Culinary Arts (RACA) is to launch a course at The City of Liverpool College, set to begin in September 2017.

The course will give 16 students the opportunity to be awarded the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts Diploma upon successful completion and to become graduates of the RACA.

Executive chef Ian Jaundoo said: “The RACA course at the college is very important to Liverpool and the North West because it means we can find, train and keep talented chefs in the region.

“For years, chefs who have been trained at the college have had to move south to work in the highest quality restaurants that have allowed them to win Michelin stars. With the RACA programme we are aiming to keep the talent here so more restaurants of Michelin star standard may open.”

The college is the first college in the North West and the first outside London to be picked to deliver the course.

The course is open to those aged between 16 and 19 and will provide formal training, practical work and culinary theory. An enrichment programme will offer the students demonstrations from leading chefs and field trips to food producers.
