Abstract
Catering and logistics company Global Infusion Group (GIG) has been awarded The Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2017, which recognises business success.

The award is GIG’s second Queen’s Award for Enterprise after receiving the honour in 2014 for international performance.

Since 2014, GIG grew overseas sales from event catering, food and beverage project management and brand support from £5.8 million in 2013 to £8.6 million in the year to December 2015, and 48% increase.

Tony Laurenson, chief executive and founder of GIG, said: “This is another tremendous honour which recognises the fantastic efforts of all our loyal and hard working staff who have helped us to grow our client portfolio across the globe.

“It was amazing to win our first Queen’s award in 2014 and it inspired us to drive forward and build on that success rather than rest on our laurels.”

The company provides catering for major sports, music and corporate events including Glastonbury Festival and for three Olympic games.

Green Gourmet Limited, the British food innovation company that creates healthy food brands, was awarded the accolade. Financially the company has grown 57% over the past five years with sales of chicken increasing 30% year on year.

Julie Moore, managing director for Green Gourmet, said: “Receiving the Queens Award is a great recognition for the hard work the whole team has put in over the last five years.

“Because Green Gourmet is an innovation company, we fully understand the benefits we bring to the market with our products, however the Queens Award gives us a stamp of approval to give to customers.”

Catering equipment supplier Nisbets was also awarded for international trade.

Andrew Nisbet, chairman and founder, said: "To be awarded the Queen's Award for Enterprise is a great honour and a huge tribute to the work of Nisbets colleagues worldwide."

The winners are chosen by the Queen on advice of the Prime Minister and winners will attend a special reception at Buckingham Palace later this year.
