Abstract
The Quality Food and Drinks Awards have added a two-week extension for businesses to enter their most innovative food and drink products into the 40th annual awards program.

Manufacturers and suppliers now have until the 28 of June 2019 to enter their products into the range of award categories from Children’s to Delicatessen Goods, Enhanced Foods and Home Kits right through to Breakfast Products, Party Food and Sparkling Wine.

Entry into the Small Producer Quality Food and Drink Awards (sponsored by the Co-op) has also been extended. This award will once again search for the nation’s small producer of the year - with the overall winner receiving a retail listing with the Co-op.

Helen Lyons, publishing director at the Quality Food and Drink Awards, said: “2019 is a very special year for the Quality Food and Drink Awards; we’re celebrating our 40th anniversary with our biggest awards campaign yet.

“I urge all retailers, wholesalers, foodservice, own label and branded producers to enter their most innovative products and be a part of this momentous year.

“We have now given the industry additional time to hone and perfect their entries. With the standards rising significantly year upon year, I am truly very excited to see and sample 2019’s innovations.

“Winning an award gives your product a prestigious badge of excellence, so those looking to advance their position within the market and hone their NPD should enter today.”

The 2019 Quality Food and Drink Awards will culminate at London’s The Brewery on Friday 22nd November 2019.

The judging process requires each entry to be put through its paces by a ‘rigorous and independent’ judging panel with criteria including taste, flavour, texture, aroma, ingredients, innovation, packaging, presentation and price point.

Each entry receives constructive, actionable feedback even if an entered product does not end up winning.

There is also a lower small producer entry fee, which is applicable for companies with fewer than 10 staff and annual sales under £2 million.,
