Petition for investigation into military food standards breaks 10,000 mark
Abstract
A petition that calls for an investigation into the standard of food served to the military and Sodexo services will receive a Government response as it has achieved more than 10,000 signatures.

Sodexo, which provides a foodservice to the military, has received a number of complaints on social media about its standards. The petition, which currently has 17,865 signatures, also states that the Government spends less per head on a soldier than it does on a prisoner.

When contacted by Cost Sector Catering, a Sodexo spokesperson said: “We are one of a number of companies who provide catering services to the Armed Forces and we take very seriously any complaints about the quality of our food.

“We are undertaking audits at our military sites to ensure that the food served meets the best standards possible. The MOD has processes in place to ensure the standard of food is monitored and we are working with them to review the recent issues raised

“In order to investigate these complaints properly, we are actively encouraging customers to inform the Sodexo team where they purchased the food at the time so that the issue can be looked into straight away.”
