Abstract
Aramark has been granted extensions to two of its contracts with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) in Scotland in a move which will see the company retain business valued at over £3m a year.

The foodservice and facilities management (FM) specialist provides a wide range of services within the two contracts including catering, retail services, cleaning, and mess services, across four sites in total.

The extensions follow discussions with the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and support its implementation of Project Hestia, which will align existing ‘soft’ facilities management contracts across the MoD over the next few years.

The news sees Aramark’s multi-activity contract for Fleet Scotland extended by three years with soft FM services being provided to the Royal Marines in their base at Condor, Arbroath; to HMS Gannet in Prestwick; and to the Royal Naval Reserve establishment at Govan.

A two-year extension has been agreed for the contract to support MoD Caledonia with a similar range of services in Rosyth.

Mike Ball, regional managing director for Aramark, said: “We have a strong and productive working relationship with the MoD at these sites, making a real difference to the lives of service men and women based there.

“We’re excited that we’ll be continuing these partnerships throughout the duration of the new contract extensions.”
