Catering on the Countess of York is provided by Levy Restaurants, part of Compass Group, and the new menu features Scottish inspired treats.
Sam Waseem, assistant catering manager at the National Railway Museum, said: “We put a great deal of effort into making sure we offer new and exciting afternoon tea options for our guests to enjoy and we are certain that our new menu in celebration of the Flying Scotsman will prove just as popular.”
The new menu will feature finger sandwiches including Roast Highlands beef with horseradish and watercress, chargrilled chicken and herb mayonnaise and cucumber and cream cheese, as well as Scottish smoked salmon oatcakes with dill crème fraiche and beetroot and freshly baked scones with vanilla enhanced clotted cream and homemade preserve.
