Abstract
Conservation charity, the National Trust, is hosting its first ever Food and Beverage Festival this month (15-16 May) to celebrate its chefs and catering staff, hard work and innovation, and share best industry practice.

In addition to workshops, cookery demonstrations and talks from chefs including Levi Roots, the charity is launching its Food and Beverage Superstars (FABS) recognition scheme.

Open to all staff working across its food and beverage teams, categories include most inspiring local dish, most inspirational leader and best customer service, with the winners to be announced on 15 May.

Focusing on “sustainable food, grown with care,” organisers have also pledged to “produce no landfill waste,” which they plan to achieve by: giving out reusable hot cups on arrival; serving drinks exclusively in glass, cans and PLA cups; supplying food vendors with its own compostable Vegware packaging; hosting workshops on minimising environmental impact and drop-in sessions with Vegware.

The event will take place at Calke Abbey (Derby),15-16 May. For more information, visit: https://www.ntfbfestival.org/.
