Leeming Pilkington secures two Food Made Good stars
Abstract
London based business & industry caterer Leeming Pilkington has secured its first Food Made Good sustainability rating, earning two stars.

Co-founder and director, Chris Pilkington, said: “We take sustainability seriously as a company, so I am delighted that this has been recognised with a two star rating. We will definitely be pushing for three stars next year.

“The big issue for us is that we will promote the sustainability aspect to our clients - whether that’s encouraging them to go with more free range or organic meat, eggs and milk or promoting more healthy eating options.

“We have been successful in pushing this and convincing clients of the sustainability argument but we know there is always a balance between sustainability and the bottom line.”

The rating, conducted by the Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA), is recognition for the wide range of initiatives introduced by Leeming Pilkington across the business.

Menus change weekly to incorporate seasonally available produce and all of the beef and lamb served is free-range and grass or pasture-fed, while all of the eggs are free range.

The company also supports a number of charities, including Bone Cancer Research, Help for Heroes and Springboard. And it recently introduced eco-cleaning products across all of its sites.
