Leading author backs SuperHumans Campaign

18th Jan 2008 - 00:00
Abstract
Industry body Seafish has appointed Annabel Karmel, a UK leading author on children's food and nutrition, as an ambassador for The SuperHumans campaign to help encourage parents and kids to eat more fish.
Seafish developed The SuperHumans characters as part of a campaign to get positive health messages about eating fish across to kids within their school environment, in a fun, eye-catching way. The campaign began in Scotland in 2004, introducing children to the two SuperHumans characters – who were just average kids until they discovered the magic powers of omega 3. The characters have made appearances throughout the UK at schools and supermarkets to help get across messages across about the benefits of eating fish to kids and parents. There is also a dedicated website www.SuperHumans.co.uk which features recipes and tips. Karen Galloway, marketing manager for Seafish, said: "Obesity has become a major problem among children and it's important we remind parents how important a role fish and seafood can play in a healthy, balanced diet. "Annabel's recipes and tips are a great tool for us to reach mums and dads across the UK and we hope The SuperHumans will encourage kids to try something new." Contact Seafish on 0131 558 3331 for further information on how to get involved in the campaign.
