Jockey Club caters for over 100,000 racegoers at Investec Derby

Jockey Club Catering has catered for over 100,000 attendees at the Investec Derby, the horse racing festival at Epsom Downs Racecourse, Surrey.

Julian Frost Wilson, Epsom Downs Racecourse head chef, created menus across the racecourses 35 catering sites, with a brigade of 100 chefs, over the two day festival.

Jockey Club Catering, a partnership between The Jockey Club British racing group and Compass Group UK & Ireland, partnered with British Fine Foods to provide hampers for racegoers.

Richard Herring, Jockey Club Catering general manager, said: “The Investec Derby is always one of the highlights of the year and you cannot beat the atmosphere at the ‘greatest flat race in the world’.

“We worked closely with the team at British Fine Foods to create the ultimate summer picnic in celebration of the UK’s best ingredients.”

Menu items included Scottish salmon mousse wrapped in smoked salmon, sun blushed tomatoes and olives and British artisan cheddar, quince and savoury biscuits and millionaires shortbread.
