HCA announces new 6C’s award for 2016 forum
Abstract
The Hospital Caterers Association’s (HCA) National Leadership and Development Forum 2016 will take place on April 14th-15th at the ACC Liverpool and will feature a new award.

The award is a team honour and will recognise partnership working between clinical, dietetic and catering colleagues. Successful entries will need to demonstrate the benefit of their collaborative methods, matching this year’s ‘With a little help from our friends’ theme.

HCA chair, Phil Shelley, said: “The HCA National Awards shine a light on those who go above and beyond to provide patients with wholesome, nutritious food. We are very excited to see the nominations for our new category as we believe the 6C’s are vital components to empowering recovery through food.”

The full definition of the 6C’s is:

·  Care - caring defines our work

·  Compassion - empathy, privacy and dignity

·  Competence - using effective and technical knowledge to enhance the service

·  Communication - central to effective caring relationships

·  Courage- having the personal strength and vision to innovate

·  Commitment - taking action to make this vision and strategy a reality

Submission deadline for the awards is February 12th and a form can be viewed here or on the HCA forum website.
