Abstract
Harrison Catering Services, the independent, family-owned contractor with 2,500 staff serving more than 100,000 meals daily across 400 sites, has made two senior appointments to support the continuing development of its business.

Claire Aylward, joint managing director of Harrison, said: “We are delighted to welcome Vernon Cox and Paul Biddle to Harrison. They are outstanding additions to the superb team of professionals we have supporting our business across our sites.

“Each of them brings to the company a depth of experience that will be an asset as we continue to grow our business.”

Cox has joined as business development director, with strategic responsibility for delivering sales growth in line with the company’s business plan.

He comes with 20 years of experience in the catering industry, having worked extensively in operations and sales across all sectors for both large and small organisations.

Aylward said his commitment to quality food and service and belief in Harrison’s core values would be critical in conveying the clear advantages of a Harrison foodservice to future clients.

Biddle, meanwhile, has joined as human resources director, overseeing all aspects of the human resources function.

Aylward said he was a skilled employee relations practitioner with extensive human resources and operational experience, having spent 26 years in the home delivery sector, working in large organisations with national coverage.

“His expertise will be vital in ensuring that Harrison continues to employ the best people in the industry, who represent the company’s values and high standards to clients and customers,” she added.
