Abstract
At last month’s CESA Conference Gala Dinner, Gram was announced as the winner of the FCSI sustainable catering equipment award for their generation five refrigeration product, the SuperiorPlus 72.

Run by CESA and in association with FCSI and the BHA, the award was given to Gram as it’s product is the most sustainable refrigeration unit available on the market being 35% more efficient than its previous best-in-class predecessor.

Glenn Roberts, managing director at Gram UK, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won this award. It really is the ideal way to round off what has been a very enjoyable and informative conference. This award is a real testament to the years of hard work and strategic foresight of our Danish development team combined with the implementation of cutting edge technology to the refrigeration arena. To be recognised by the FCSI with such a prestigious award, cements our position as pioneers in the field of energy efficient refrigeration.”

Kate Gould, FCSI, one of the judges for the award, said: “Gram's entry for their SuperiorPlus unit was completely transparent and provided all the information required to verify their testing protocol in-line with strict EN 441 standards. They provided the results of their testing both in terms of kWh and cost savings, and provided details on other benefits such as no increase to the cost of the unit and an extended warranty period. All in all, they demonstrated that the company is a leader in the market place in terms of raising awareness of sustainability issues and this new refrigerated unit shows that they are constantly working towards improving the energy efficiency of their equipment.”
