Abstract
Prime Minister Gordon Brown has met the group of young people that went to Japan and represented Britain in the WorldSkills 2007 competition.
Will Torrent from Richings Park Golf and Country Club competed in the Confectioner and Pastry Chef category and was awarded a Medallion For Excellence.
Will expressed his delight at being recognised in the competition: "Winning the medallion of excellence was excellent, to know that I have reached a level of excellence on a world stage is unbelievable...and beating the French, Germans and Swiss made it even more sweet!"
The WorldSkills competition comes to the UK in 2011.
