Future of food and packaging waste to be discussed at London conference

A conference bringing together policy makers and key stakeholders across the food supply chain to discuss the next steps for food and packing waste will take place in central London on 12 October.

The seminar entitled ‘Food and packaging waste reduction policy - investment, innovation and enforcement’ will feature talks from among others Chris Preston, deputy director of waste and recycling at Defra and Nick Brown, head of sustainability for Coca-Cola’s European partners.

Areas for discussion will include; Consumer behaviour, funding and investment, innovation, and Packaging recovery and recycling options.

Also expected to be in attendance will be members of both houses of parliament, representatives from Greenpeace UK, the Food Standards Agency and the British Frozen Food Federation.
