Administrators at FRP advisory say that 40 jobs have been saved after the two businesses, collectively known as 'The Group', and their assets, were bought by west midlands-based supplier Unitech.
Francis Catering has over 40 years of trading experience serving clients with catering equipment and industrial kitchen installations from its main office in Kingswinford and its satellite warehouse in Stockport, Greater Manchester.
Recent company expansion included the purchase of assets and certain contracts out of the administration of Design Catering Equipment in 2014.
According to FRP, this expansion, which involved upfront capital investment, put ‘unsustainable pressure’ on cash flow and working capital which led to administration.
Nick Imlah, group managing director at Unitech, said: “We are glad to have been able to secure the future employment of such a large number of people.
"I look forward to working with the teams at Kingswinford and Stockport to re-build the brand and reputation of Francis.”
