Abstract
Homemade cake company SnuggleMuffin has opened its first store in Glasgow city centre eight years on from its owner selling the cakes from her school locker.

The company operates as a cakes and confectionary online shop and caterer for weddings, parties and special events, and supplies to a range of cafes, delis and restaurants across Scotland.

Founded by Juliane Grasekamp when she was 16-years-old, the cakes are now on display in Glasgow’s Buchanan Galleries retail development, in Avalon’s Quality Equipment Distributors (QED) display counters.

"Since the opening at the beginning of August we have had a very busy few weeks of trading and are confident that the operation will be successful in the long term,” said Grasekamp. “Even though it’s early days, I can see us expanding by opening more outlets in the future."
