Abstract
The UK’s largest independent manufacturer of cleaning and hygiene products has appointed Hobart UK’s longest serving managing director Ian Garner as an independent non-executive director.

“Now is a very exciting time for Zenith. With four consecutive years of growth and a strategy to continually improve the products and services that are supplied to the growing customer base, Ian Garner’s professionalism, experience and wealth of industry knowledge will be integral in our on-going development,” said Zenith chief executive Ringo Francis.

Garner joins Zenith after 40 years with Hobart UK, which he joined as a food processing specialist in 1975. He spent many years in the national accounts team before he was appointed director of sales in 1994, director of sales and marketing in 1997 and then managing director of the UK operation in 1999.

“After spending 40 years within the hospitality and catering industry my passion and enthusiasm has not disappeared,” said Garner.

“Zenith has gone from strength-to-strength and I’m very pleased to be involved in the next phase of their corporate journey.

“The union of my knowledge and background in commercial catering equipment with Zenith’s dominance in cleaning and hygiene chemicals is a perfect fit and will no doubt help to satisfy the industry needs.”

Francis added: “Zenith’s positioning and offering to the market is set to only become better. Our recent listing on the NHS Supply Chain is testament to this. Ian’s introduction will bring huge benefit to the group and we are very excited to have him on board.”
