Foodservice supplier of dairy products Futura Foods, has announced vegan cheese alternative Mozzarisella will feature in its range of products, in response to the growing demand for vegan dishes.
Kenneth Axen, managing director of Futura Foods, said: “’Suitable for Vegans’ is a phrase that we are starting to see more of and outlets who fail to offer customers a vegan option undoubtedly stand to lose out in the future.”
The addition of Mozzarisella to Futura Food’s product range is in response to the growing vegan movement in the UK, with the number of vegans rising by 360% between 2006 and 2016, according to figures from Ipsos MORI.
The alternative, made from rice and suitable for coeliacs, is already featured on the menus of operators including high street pizza chain Zizzi.
