Fine dining contract caterer ISS Eaton helps staff at O2 centres during cold snap

13th Jan 2010 - 00:00
Abstract
As the heavy snowfall continues, fine dining and staff restaurant provider ISS Eaton has gone the extra mile in ensuring business goes on as usual at the O2 centres across the UK.
ISS has started compensating for members of the 02 staff unable to fight their way through the snow. The team has offered the 02 site manager the £660 from the ISS food and hospitality coffers to purchase salt and grit – ensuring that all members of staff who were attempting the journey to work would arrive to a safe and usable car park. Elsewhere, the Preston Brook 02 site was dealing with similar treacherous conditions. Despite concerns that all staff members should go home early and not attempt the journey the following morning, ISS Eaton had arranged for a chef, general assistant and a till operator to stay in a local hotel to ensure their safety, guarantee attendance and provide warm meals to those able to get to the 02 centre. Simon Titchener, managing director from ISS Eaton praised his team for their total commitment to ensuring service continued without disruption: "Despite really atrocious conditions we were determined to fulfill the duties of our 02 contract. When members of staff were unable to make it to one site, our own managers braved the icy roads to safely escort members of staff to other sites." "With conditions that plummeted as low as -7 degrees we kept warm by purchasing fleeces, which we provided to all staff members to guarantee warmth and comfort in the difficult working conditions. Every member of the ISS Eaton team demonstrated incredible levels of determination and commitment to their position – I'm really proud of them."
