Final call for chefs to enter nationwide gourmet wraps challenge

Chefs and caterers have until Sunday, October 23, to submit their entries for Discovery and Santa Maria’s Gourmet Wraps challenge, in association with the Craft Guild of Chefs.
Fronted by leading restaurateur, Peter Gordon, the challenge is open to chefs who are keen to showcase their culinary talents by designing a fusion inspired gourmet wrap recipe using the more. by Santa Maria spice blends. The range includes variants such as cacao and chilli, orange pepper, chilli and lime, pasta basilico, wasabi and sesame, triple pepper, and smoked paprika. The judging panel consists of Gordon, Craft Guild of Chefs CEO Martin Bates and Ashley Pinder, head of foodservice at Discovery Foods. With wrap menu options proving themselves as a hot revenue stream in the out of home market, they will be looking for recipes that deliver high quality, good value food with exciting flavour combinations. Gordon, co-owner of The Providores & Tapa Room, will present the winner with a once in a lifetime masterclass at his recently opened Kopapa restaurant in Covent Garden. The winner will also embark on an all expenses paid tour of Santa Maria's new innovation centre and spices factory in Sweden, where they will be able develop their own signature spice blend. The prize package also includes a complimentary 12 month membership of the Craft Guild of Chefs. Five runners up will receive a Gourmet Wraps gift box containing a recipe brochure full of menu solutions, as well as a mixed case of six more. by Santa Maria spices and a signed recipe book by leading chef Marcus Samelsson.
