Eurobuns receives Queen's Award

11th Nov 2008 - 00:00
Abstract
Ten years of growth and innovation at Eurobuns were acknowledged when HRH the Duke of Kent visited the company to present the Queen's Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category.
Eurobuns was announced as a winner in this year's Awards earlier in the summer, in recognition of its continuous innovation in the manufacturer and supply of frozen breads to the UK food service and retail food industry. His Royal Highness met members of the senior management team and was given a tour of the factory before making the formal presentation to Søren Landtved, recently appointed as managing director following the acquisition of Eurobuns by Lantmännen Unibake earlier this year. The address was made by the Lord Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire, Sir Henry Aubrey-Fletcher, who said: "Eurobuns set up in business here in Milton Keynes 10 years ago determined to break into an extremely competitive market place; it has done this by being innovative in its processes. Along the way Eurobuns has achieved double-digit growth every year, exceeding its business plan from year one and then every year since." "The company operates from one of the most modern, purpose-built bakeries within Europe. It has grown from one original production line to seven, employs a workforce of over 400, and expanded its premises twice. The latest production line, its third for making French bread, was commissioned last summer."
