Abstract
Eden Foodservice, part of Interserve, has won school catering contracts across London worth in excess of £3 million.

The contracts include two new secondary schools and one primary school in the Kensington and Chelsea, together with the retention of its current work with primary schools in Hammersmith and Fulham.

Paul Salisbury, managing director for Eden commented: “We are really proud to have won accounts in a key London borough, in addition to retaining our long standing relationship with Hammersmith & Fulham.

“Our teams have really taken the time to understand not only the requirements of each borough, but also the communities within them. We know that our flexible approach to delivering great food, supported by our passion for teaching and nurturing children on food, farming and health, were all important elements of contracts across London’s boroughs.”

Eden will continue to manage the catering for 38 primary schools in Hammersmith and Fulham, together with providing school meals to St Joseph’s RC Primary School, St Thomas More Language College, and Sion-Manning RC Secondary School in Kensington and Chelsea

The deal will see school meals provided to nearly 9,000 pupils daily. As part of the brief, Eden was asked to review the boroughs as a collective, detailing how it would deliver high quality, healthy meals the schools would enjoy, with Eden demonstrating how it would adopt a bespoke approach according to the individual requirements of each borough.

Eden created tailored partnerships for each school, ensuring the training and development of catering teams, together with the assurance of recruiting within local communities.

St Thomas More and Sion-Manning Schools will be introduced to Eden’s ‘Food Hub’. Food Hub, which provides fresh dishes for 11-18 year olds inspired by current culinary and high street food trends.

Pupils of St Joseph’s School in Chelsea will be introduced to the ‘Greens’. They are a farming family of superhero characters, on a mission, with the help of their super strength and knowledge, to entice children to eat nutritionally balanced food. In addition they educate pupils about farming, health, cooking and their benefits in innovative, fun and engaging ways.
