Dine takes on Hadrian’s Cycleway
Abstract
Team members from Dine Contract Catering have completed Hadrian’s Cycleway to raise funds for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE).

The group cycled from Ravenglass on the west coast of Cumbria to Tynemouth on the East coast, covering 172 miles and 6,000ft ascent.

Zoe Green, business development director, said: “As a company, we’ve embarked on a number of challenging fundraising activities over the years – from cycling to Paris, to climbing to the peak of Snowdon – and similarly, Hadrian’s Cycleway was no mean feat.

“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved, and knowing that our efforts will help The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award to continue its great work, makes it all worthwhile.

“The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is dedicated to giving young people the life and work skills they need to reach their full potential, which is something we’re very passionate about at Dine Contract Catering.

“We’re committed to offering our apprentices the opportunity to take part in the Award and it is wonderful to see how much they can gain, in terms of confidence and development.”

The operator already has an impressive fundraising track record, having raised over £30,000 for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, with an aim to reach a total of £40,000 as a result of this impressive cycling event.

The DofE plays a big part in the business, as all apprentices are given the opportunity to complete the Bronze Award as part of Dine Contract Catering’s apprenticeship scheme.
