Abstract
DBC Foodservice has launched an EBLEX Quality Standard range of beef and lamb products for the foodservice sector.
This is the first range of products DBC has launched for the foodservice sector, having worked with EBLEX, the organisation for the English beef and sheep meat industry, for a number of years through its butchery trading desks. The range includes around 20 different lamb and beef products suitable for all dining occasions, such as rolled and tied lamb shoulder (1.3-1.7kg), boneless lamb leg joint (1.3-1.9kg) and topside roasting joint (2.5-3.5kg). All products form part of 'dbc label', DBC's own-label brand launched in January 2011. The selection is available now throughout DBC's 12 regional depots on a 'day one for day two delivery' guarantee, and DBC's flexibility means there is no minimum order size. The range is likely to be extended over the coming months, in response to customer demand. And to celebrate the launch of the new range, the EBLEX Quality Standard Mark now features across the side of DBC's vehicles, promoting DBC's commitment to offering customers quality-assured British beef and lamb. Rob McFarlane, DBC's new commercial director, meats, who joined the company in February with 24 years of experience in the meat and poultry sector, said: "We are extremely excited to be launching our new EBLEX Quality Standard range of beef and lamb products. "The range demonstrates DBC's stance on offering quality-assured meat from British farms and gives our customers complete confidence in the way our meat has been sourced. We are proud to be able to add the EBLEX Quality Standard Mark to the side of our transport fleet and show our total commitment to the best in British agriculture." Mike Whittemore, project manager at EBLEX, added: "We are delighted that DBC has launched an EBLEX Quality Standard range of quality meat products for the foodservice sector. The Quality Standard Mark is fundamental to both customers and farmers and the use of the mark across the side of its fleet signifies DBC's commitment to farming."
