Culinary Academy wins gold at Hospitality

The Craft Guild of Chefs' Culinary Academy has struck gold at the Salon Culinaire taking place at Hospitality 2009.
Sean McNulty, from Radbrook College in Shrewsbury scooped gold in the 'A passion to inspire: The Creative Challenge', beating contestants from contract caterer Vacherin. Juan Sanchez, from Thames Valley University in London took home bronze for the Culinary Academy in the British Culinary Federation's 'Young Chef Challenge'. He fought off competition from Compass Group and The Royal Garden Hotel. This year there has been eight new classes in Live Theatre. These are: CHEF at Salon sponsored by Nestle Professional Scholler Masterclass, sponsored by Movenpick Essential Cuisine Team, sponsored by Essential Cuisine Heinz Best of British British Culinary federation Young Chef Challenge Sodexo Young Chef of the Year Glennans Chef Challenge Major International Contract Catering Awards Competitions are run on set days over the three days of the Show, with award ceremonies for each challenge at the end of each day.
