Abstract
London-based catering company Crooks & Partners has been chosen as the operator of a new café being built at the Grade II listed North Lodge in Brompton Cemetery.

The café is part of a regeneration project at the garden cemetery being run by The Royal Parks in conjunction with Heritage Lottery and the BIG Lottery ‘Parks for People’ funding programme.

Cooks & Partners won the five-year contract worth approximately £1.5m following a formal tender process.

It will take over the running of the café from April 2018, tasked with giving it a reputation for food quality and local engagement.

The site will open alongside a ‘Friends’ Meeting Place and a small events space.

This new café site, under the Royal Parks’ banner, will join the other three café sites within the Cooks & Partners portfolio, Hamilton Café, Resource Café and Holland Park Café.

“We are thrilled to be chosen by The Royal Parks to embark on such a new opportunity,” said Simon Goggin, owner of Cooks & Partners.

“Their site was a natural fit for us as they were keen to appoint a caterer with strong social values and a food sustainability programme.”

Andrew Varnava, catering contract manager at The Royal Parks, added: “We choose to work with Cooks & Partners because they tapped into our vision and had the expertise to deliver exactly what we wanted without compromising on their sustainable food supply chain.“
