Abstract
Contract caterer Harbour & Jones (H&J) has announced it is part sponsoring the Wells Food Festival, which is taking place for the first time on October 20th in the smallest city in England, Wells in Somerset.

The Wells Food Festival is the brainchild of friends Paddy O’Hagan and Anne Furniss, who are aiming to increase awareness of Somerset’s ingredients, its produce and partners, as well as the city of Wells. Anne is also co-founder of London based publishing company Quadrille Publishing, which has published numerous cookbooks for the likes of John Torode and James Martin.

H&J, the inhouse event caterer at the Bishop’s Palace in Wells and also runs the Bishop’s Table café, will be getting involved in creating their own authentic Sunday lunch as well as helping out with the signage and marketing for the event.

"The ideals of the Wells Food Festival are a perfect fit with H&J's belief of using fantastic locally sourced produce. It is even more suitable as this year we have started our own campaign called Save the Orchards which aims to restore the dwindling number of orchard trees in Britain," said Patrick Harbour, co-owner and director of H&J.

Working alongside the Palace, H&J aims to promote local suppliers, such as Brown & Forrest Smokery, Leivito Bakery, Westcombe Dairy and Jon Thorner, as well as award winning cider and juice producer Orchard Pig.

Alongside Orchard Groundcare, who produce Orchard Pig cider, H&J is pioneering their own campaign called Save the Orchards which aims to help the cider industry in Somerset through restoring and planting new cider trees.
