Compass reveals tools to promote healthier choices
Abstract
Compass Group, with research and analysis company Footprint Intelligence, has published a new report that outlines how caterers can use ‘nudges’ to help customers make healthier choices.

The Designed with Health in Mind report highlights opportunities for the foodservice industry to use gentle suggestions or ‘nudges’ to encourage positive behaviour as tools to promote a healthy diet and lifestyle.

Dennis Hogan, managing director, Compass Group UK & Ireland, said: “I’m really proud of what we’ve already accomplished in the area of health and wellbeing, but at Compass we recognise there’s still more to do.

“In commissioning this report we wanted to look at potential new ways we can help our consumers become healthier. This research provides a good basis for some simple but constructive changes that could have a positive impact for our customers and clients.”

The report suggests redesigning menus to draw attention to healthier choices, changing the food layout and creating positive associations with healthy food.
