Abstract
The UK’s largest food and support services company, Compass Group UK & Ireland, has launched a range of personal protective equipment (PPE) specifically designed for women.

Following a four-week trial aimed to further support its diverse female workforce (including chefs, cleaners and security officers), the new range is designed to meet specific requirements of female colleagues with Compass’s ‘safety first’ ethos in mind.

The new line, created with the company’s food buy and national distribution and outsourcing company, Bunzl, includes adjustable safety goggles, slip-resistant shoes and protective gloves.

Health and safety executive director at Compass, Andy May said: “We’re committed to continually enhancing the support we provide to our colleagues in our endeavours to make their working environment comfortable and safe.

“The introduction of this new PPE is a great reflection of this continuing commitment. We’re really proud of the new range and have already received fantastic feedback from colleagues across the business.”

The launch of the new range follows Compass’s Women in Food initiative, which aims to support and develop the role of female chefs across the business.
