Abstract
Compass Group UK & Ireland has rolled out Workplace, Facebook’s communications platform for companies, across its portfolio following a successful trial period.

The services provider has been trialing the system for the past few months and has now rolled it out to more than 6,000 colleagues, including its mobile regional management teams and its employees based across multiple offices, with the potential to widen its availability across the business to all 60,000 employees over the coming months.

Michael Kissman, director of corporate affairs at Compass Group UK & Ireland, said: “We have 60,000 colleagues working across multiple sites under many different sector brands – whether it be hospitals, schools, oil rigs, high profile leisure venues, military bases and offices, so engaging effectively with our people is no easy task.

“Workplace has transformed our ability to communicate with colleagues. Not just top-down but also the sharing of ideas and best practice across teams. It is already supporting positive colleague engagement and company culture. I believe ultimately it will translate into even better service for our clients.”

Last week, Facebook announced that Workplace was now available for every organisation worldwide. Employees are able to access information through the News Feed, create and share information in Groups or use Work Chat (instant messaging), or features such as reactions, search and trending posts.
