The Clink Charity releases spring hampers made by students at HMP Brixton
Abstract
The Clink Charity, renowned for reducing reoffending by training and rehabilitating people in prison, has unveiled its spring hampers that were made by students at The Clink Bakery in HMP Brixton.

The Clink Bakery, which was recently awarded the Social Enterprise Bakery of the Year, aims to provide ‘transformative’ education and employment opportunities for those leaving prison. In 2023 alone, the bakery trained 20 students and awarded eight qualifications, including Level 2 Patisserie and Nutrition certifications.

Each spring hamper features:

  • Strawberry, coconut, and ruby chocolate brittle
  • Pistachio, almond, and sour cherry biscotti
  • Mixed berry meringues
  • Earl Grey and lemon shortbread
  • Clotted cream fudge
  • Salted toffee and peanut popcorn
  • Parmesan and cheddar cheese sables
  • Chocolate and vanilla sandwich cookies
  • Seville orangettes

Every hamper includes a bottle of Dry Dragon Kombucha, wholemeal flour from Brixton Windmill, a recipe card and a ten year anniversary of The Clink recipe book. Priced at £85, these spring hampers offer a way to support The Clink Charity.

Yvonne Thomas, chief executive of The Clink Charity, said: “Our goal at the bakery, and across the charity, is to help people develop practical skills that can help them rebuild their lives.

“As such, these hampers are a wonderful showcase of our students’ ability and creativity. We expect them to be very popular and customers can be assured that each purchase supports our work in reducing reoffending.”
