Chefs and restaurateurs plan Nepal trek for Action Against Hunger
Abstract
A team of chefs and restaurateurs will embark on a trek through the Nepalese Himalayas later this month with the aim of raising £120,000 for Action Against Hunger.

The six-day trek takes places in the run up to the two-year anniversary of the Nepal earthquake. The team will visit Action Against Hunger’s programmes and meet families affected by the earthquakes.

Dan Doherty, executive chef at Duck & Waffle, will be part of the team and said: “The challenge we’re about to face is nothing in comparison to the daily challenge those in Nepal have gone through since the earthquake devastated their lives two years ago, and we’re hopeful the money raised will contribute to helping families rebuild their lives.”

Joining Doherty will be: Damian Clisby, head chef at Petersham Nurseries; Ross Shonhan, chef and founder of Bone Daddies, Flesh ‘n Buns, Shackfuyu; Nieves Barragan-Mohacho, former executive chef at Barrafina restaurants; Tim Spedding, formerly chef at P Franco and Clove Club; Shaun Searley, head chef at Quality Chop House; James Knappett, head chef at Kitchen Table, Bubbledogs; Justin Landsberger, commercial director at Deliveroo; Mikey Davies, strategic projects commercial manager at Deliveroo; Dean Arbel, MD of The Bread Factory; Sarah Fox, head of restaurants and leisure at Hammerson; Richard Bigg, MD of Camino Restaurants; Charley Springall, head of marketing at The Ivy Collection; Nick Gibson, owner of The Drapers Arms; Tom Hunt, eco-chef, campaigner, food writer, Poco restaurants; and Rosie Mira, head of marketing at Hawksmoor.
