Abstract
Contract caterers, CH&Co, has kitted out a transit van for children’s charity, Kids Company, as part of its commitment to improve disadvantaged children’s access to good food.

The Kids Company estimates that 85% of the children it helps rely on the charity for their main meal. The mobile cookery school will go some way in helping the charity carry out its work. A typical session can teach up to 30 people at a time and starts with a demonstration by Chef Adrian Carter, who himself was supported by Kids Company, followed by a workshop.

CH&Co founder Robyn Jones, said: “It is clear that Kids Company’s services are vital in providing a secure source of healthy meals. With our help they can improve the physical health and resilience of these children - helping them to improve their concentration, their learning capacity, raise energy levels and regulate mood. They will help children to discover the joy of sharing food with friends.”

Kids Company founder Camila Batmanghelidjh said: “For children, good food is vital not just for survival but for happiness too. 85% of our children rely on us for their main meal of the day, so the work of CH&Co is vital to helping us help these children who have so little but need so much.”
