Abstract
Specialist education caterers, Alliance in Partnership, recently got behind Lisa Whitney, the catering manager at Tenbury High School when she took on the challenge of the Cardiff Half Marathon.

As part of her fundraising, Whitney managed to persuade the Head of Tenbury High School to hold a non-uniform day for the charity which raised approximately £1,400.

Whitney raised money for Bliss, a premature baby care charity. She explained: “Bliss was very supportive when my niece and nephew were born prematurely at 23 weeks 5 days and given a very slim chance of survival.  They’ve both just started pre-school and their future now looks fantastic!”

She trained hard for the 13.1 miles:  “It’s all been worth it – thank you to everyone who has supported me” she said.

David Weller, managing director of Alliance in Partnership added: “I have a daughter who was born at 25 weeks.  She is now 21 so sponsoring Lisa was something I was very much in favour of.”

Bliss wasn’t the only charity to benefit from Alliance in Partnership following the Cardiff Half Marathon.  Donations were also given to the Midland Air Ambulance Charity, The Fire Fighters Charity and Cancer Research UK.
