Abstract
A charity founded by hospitality industry entrepreneur is appealing to operators with its ‘Pinkspiration’ initiative to help drive blood stem cell registrations.

The Team Margot Foundation, co-founded by Yaser Martini, board member of Beds and Bars, PubAid and Cirrus Inns, is asking operators to help spread the message of blood stem cell donor registration through ‘Pinkspiration week’ taking place from 23 July to 30 July.

A team of four dads are hoping to get 1.5 million sign-ups to the register with their 1.5 million rows across the Atlantic in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge.

UKHospitality, chief executive, Kate Nicholls, said: : “We will be helping to raise awareness of this important initiative and would encourage hospitality operators to get involved.

“Stem cell donor registration is such an important issue and people have the opportunity to help save a life just by doing a simple cheek swab which only takes a couple of minutes."

Skippered by Martin Beaumont, who’s late father Chis was the first CEO of industry charity Springboard, if they reach their goal, then statistically 15,000 loves could be saved.
