Catering outlets help boost Heathrow revenues to £2.1bn
Abstract
Heathrow Airport has reported sales across its catering portfolio have increased 17.2% to £34 million in the nine-month period ending 30th September 2015.

The strong performance was driven by enhancements in Terminal 5 and new openings in Terminal 2, which includes Heston Blumenthal’s The Perfectionists’ Café and YO! Sushi.

The catering portfolio at Heathrow saw the biggest year-on-year growth across the whole retail sector at 17.2%, ahead of Bureaux de change (15.6%), Airside specialist shops (10.3%) and car parking (9.6%).

Heathrow saw total net retail income hit £379 million, a 7.4% increase on last year’s £353 million.

Across its whole estate, the airport saw revenue up 4.1% to £2.1 billion, EBITDA up 4.4% to £1.2 billion and traffic increase 2.3% to a record 56.9 million passengers.

Heathrow’s restaurant and café outlets include, giraffe and giraffe Stop, Gordon Ramsay’s Plane Food,  Wetherspoon’s The Crown Rivers and The Flying Chariot and wagamama.
