Abstract
Caterers are being invited to submit the recipe for their favourite pie for a chance to win the Face of British Pie Week competition.
Jus-Rol is urging all those pie fans to log onto www.britishpieweek.co.uk to tell them about their recipe. If their homemade pub pie hits the mark, the winner will not only be crowned with the face of British Pie Week 2009 title, but will also receive £500 cash prize, a day with Jus-Rol's pie expert to develop a bespoke pie menu for their pub, ready for British Pie Week, and will receive a selection of bespoke point of sale including a winners banner for the outside of their pub. Last year's winner Mike Greer, head chef at The Duke of Cornwall became a local celebrity, increasing his pie sales by a massive 400%. He also went on to join Angela Hartnett on ITV's This Morning. The award-winning chef commented: "I'd recommend any pub chef to send in their pie recipes, the benefits from winning the competition have been instrumental to boosting our profits. Our customer base and food sales have grown by over 20% and we now have a great reputation with the locals for homemade food." He went on to explain what he spent his cash money on: "We put the cash prize towards refurbishing the kitchen and the development day gave us the inspiration and the tools to drive business forward." In the build up to British Pie Week in March, Jus-Rol will be providing caterers with a host of information, recipes and free pos kits, all available on the website.
