Abstract
Ice cream manufacturer Carpigiani UK has appointed a new business development manager to ‘strengthen (its) position as a world leader in the market’.

Having joined the company just last month (October), Paul Richards has been promoted into the role following the ‘unexpected’ passing of colleague Tommy Carrigan.

As business development manager for the north of England and Wales, Richards will work with customers, dealers and distributors, and support national account manager David Ashton to develop ‘key’ accounts.

He said: “I’m delighted to join Carpigiani UK at this exciting time. It’s clear that as a business, Carpigiani has been investing in research and development, advancing technology and production methods.

“I’m excited to be part of this progressive company and I hope that I am able to pass on some of my experience in a way that will be of benefit.

“I’m looking forward to becoming an established part of the team and building relationships with new and existing customers across my region”.

He has 14 years experience in the foodservice industry, including nine at Taylor UK where he worked as area sales manager.

Sales director Scott Duncan added: “It’s with great pleasure that we are able to announce that Paul Richards has joined Carpigiani following a hugely successful period at Taylor UK. With his extensive knowledge of the industry and an impressive track-record, Paul is the ideal fit to fill the role left by our late friend and colleague, Tommy Carrigan.

Paul joins us having taken the honour of being the top sales person in his previous role, four years running, where his experience in artisan gelato and soft serve ice cream equipment, has clearly excelled. Paul will be working with our customers and partners across the north of England and Wales, while also helping to develop national and key accounts for our business going forward.”
