Brookwood Partnership teams up with Build Africa

11th Nov 2008 - 00:00
Abstract
Contract caterers The Brookwood Partnership have teamed up with charity 'Build Africa' to launch a new corporate responsibility project.
Kate Martin, managing partner from The Brookwood Partnership helped launch the 'Build a School' initiative. Brookwood's Planet Matters team have involved all team members within the company to make a difference and be part of fundraising for this charity this year. After a lot of research, Brookwood decided to work with the charity 'Build Africa' and are challenging their employees to raise £35,000 between now and December 2009 to build The Brookwood School in Uganda. Through 'Build a School', Brookwood will support a school that currently teaches classes in makeshift structures without furniture or learning materials. They will transform the school by building classrooms and sanitation facilities; by providing a water supply and desks. Teachers and parents will be helped to form effective committees to take responsibility for the maintenance and development of the school, safeguarding its future and guaranteeing a decent education for generations to come. Kate, Sue and Graham the Managing Partners started the fund raising by presenting a cheque for £1000 at the Brookwood's Managers Conference on Saturday 8th November.
