Abstract
Frozen food brand, Birds Eye, has been awarded the title of UK Frozen Brand of the Year for the fourth consecutive year, by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC.)

Praised for its commitment towards responsibly sourcing fish, the award recognises that Birds Eye has generated over three million tonnes of MSC certified white fish over the past four years, and that it offers the largest range of MSC certified frozen products on the market. As well as its core range of omega 3 fish fingers - made from 100% Alaskan Pollock fillet – it also offers gluten and dairy-free versions coated in a rice flour crumb.

Gulam Uddin, business unit controller for Birds Eye foodservice said: “We are proud to receive this recognition once again this year. It demonstrates our commitment to giving our customers quality certified sustainable frozen seafood products across our entire range.”

Birds Eye has a long-standing history with the MSC - an international non-profit organisation addressing the problem of unsustainable fishing – which it helped form in 1997, along with the World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF) and Unilever.
