Abstract
Andy Kemp, Bidfood's director of sales and marketing, is to be awarded an honorary degree by the University of West London for his services to the hospitality industry. The ceremony takes place at Wembley Stadium tomorrow (July 25th).

Kemp, who started his career with TrustHouseForte in 1981, joined the Bidvest Group in 2000 where he has been responsible for driving 'significant growth' across the UK foodservice portfolio.

He has longstanding involvement with the industry's two main charities - Springboard and Hospitality Action.

He has also worked hard for many years for industry networking group Arena, sits on the board of the One For All Foundation, and worked closely with school meals organisation LACA and the All Party Parliamentary Group on School Food.

Over the last few years he has spent time with the University of West London lecturing to catering and hospitality students and helping the academic institution engage with industry and research issues such as food fraud, supply chain integrity and the route to market for food.

Kemp told Cost Sector Catering: "I sit in such a privileged position that I would be letting everyone in the industry and myself down if I did not use it to try to help."
