Abstract
Foodservice provider Bidfood has launched its largest festive range to-date, featuring over 750 products.

Developed using industry insights, the new collection aims to meet operators’ needs and individual customer demands as well as tapping into emerging trends. As such, it has over 40 gluten-free items, including Northcoast Seafoods’ smoked salmon and dill naked fishcakes and Everyday Favourites baked winter cheesecake - the brand having witnessed the growth of free-from in the beginning of 2017.

Campaign controller at Bidfood, Gail Bridgeman said: “While the holiday season is a time of indulgence, we also need to be mindful of different dietary requirements, such as free-from. This has been a big focus for us over the last 12 months, which is why we’ve created the largest selection of gluten-free options to date and have a dedicated section for these items within our Christmas brochure.”

Also extending its offering of traditional Christmas foods, the new range includes a turkey ‘cushion’ with pork and orange stuffing, individual turkey and duck ‘cushions’ with Morrello cherry stuffing, and ‘Christmas on a stick’ skewers with pork chipolatas, turkey cubes and stuffing balls (all from the Farmstead range.)

Other items, part of the brand’s luxury range, include: Northcoast Seafood raw lobster tails, smoked salmon and Prosecco centre parfaits as well as a Kara snowball sparkle cakes and Premium Selection individual truffle torte with a gold shimmering profiterole for dessert.

Alcohol-infused cheesecakes are also newly available in a variety of flavours - peach bellini, gin fizz and elderflower, and whiskey mac – building upon the brand’s ViVAS drinks selection.

Bridgeman added: “We’ve worked hard to ensure we offer products for everyone, regardless of allergies, and without compromising on taste.

“Christmas is arguably the biggest and busiest time of year for foodservice businesses. Last year 72% of consumers ate out during the two-week festive period. To ensure that operators are capitalising on this, we’ve developed this year’s range to cater for all customer demographics and price points. This doesn’t just mean food, we also have drinks, tableware, glassware, crockery and partyware items. With a mix of traditional favourites and exciting new products, the Bidfood 2017 range has a combination of what diners like to enjoy each year plus lots of new dishes to try.”

Bidfood’s 2017 Christmas range is available now via the Bidfood website and will run over 150 deals between October and December.
