FSM BHA Report Catering Hospitality
Abstract
The Food & Service Management (FSM) sector has doubled its turnover since 1993 according to a new report from the British Hospitality Association (BHA).

The BHA has said that the report makes the FSM sector the most economically and socially relevant industry in the UK. The UK FSM market is worth over £4.25bn in turnover as 80% of companies saw their net revenues increase last year.

Details of furthering equality in the FSM sector is one of the main focuses in the report with 44% of BHA’s FSM companies being led by woman. It notes that 89% of FSM members have at least one woman on their board, with many far exceeding the FTSA 100 goal of 25% female board members by 2015.

Ufi Ibrahim, CEO of the BHA, said: “The causes which most matter to the hospitality community are the backbone of our work, and the FSM report showcases that this flourishing UK sector is promoting healthy lifestyles, providing healthy food, security, organisation and business support across UK companies. The report provides a picture of one of the most economically and socially relevant industries in the UK today.”
