Her new role will focus on developing purchasing solutions for new group business accounts.
Powell has spent her career to date in the hotels sector with companies including Abode, Intercontinental, Village Hotels and most recently Q Hotels, where she was director of national accounts.
Reporting to Beacon’s new managing director, Steven Henderson, Powell said: “I’m joining Beacon at an exciting time when we have a number of new services and initiatives ready for imminent launch. There is still a big opportunity for many businesses to improve their profitability by maximising the effectiveness of their buying, and I’m already in discussion with several groups regarding working with Beacon supply programmes or partnering with us as their outsourced solution.”
Henderson added: “It’s a pleasure to welcome Kate to the Beacon team. She has an impeccable sales background and a thorough understanding of the hospitality industry, and I’m confident Kate will add considerable value as we grow the business and our services portfolio.”
Powell will be field-based allowing her the flexibility to be able to work with all Beacon’s clients across the UK.
